Application Engineer

Role Overview

Application Engineer at Al Shirawi Group.

Role Purpose

Provide technical engineering support for HVAC system projects, including heat load calculations, equipment selection, quotation preparation, and submittal management to ensure project specifications are met and approved by contractors and consultants.

Key Responsibilities

Design & Calculations

• Perform heat load calculations and design when schedules are not provided by the customer.
• Conduct HVAC design using AutoCAD or similar software.

Equipment Selection & Quotation

• Select DX/VRF/FCU and fan models based on customer specifications and equipment schedules.
• Prepare equipment selections in CCSI.
• Perform cost estimation and quotation through Zoho.
• Quote based on price list and cost sheet.
• Follow up on quotations.

Technical Submittals

• Prepare technical submittals based on contract specifications.
• Submit submittals to contractors and consultants for approval.
• Prepare replies to consultant comments based on contract specifications.
• Submit revised submittals to contractors and consultants for approval.

Order & Project Management

• Prepare order estimation sheets and obtain approval from Sales Manager or Senior Manager.
• Prepare order files for placement and hand over to coordinator for further processing.
• Prepare project files and hand over to Sales Coordinator.
• Send order acknowledgements to customers.

Stakeholder & Administrative Management

• Update pending enquiry tracker daily and thoroughly.
• Handle other territories as per management requirements.

Qualifications & Experience

• Graduation or Post Graduation in Mechanical Engineering.
• Relevant experience as an Application Engineer or in similar roles.

Skills & Competencies

• Understanding of HVAC systems and heat load calculations.
• HVAC design using AutoCAD or similar software.
• Sales support experience with quotation creation and commercial understanding.
• Technical submittal creation based on project specifications.
• Written and verbal communication skills.
