Role Overview

Apache Mechanical Technician – General with Boeing Global Service, stationed at Al Udeid Air Base, Qatar, supporting the AH-64 Qatar Air Force Maintenance Augmentation Team (MAT).

Role Purpose

Perform AH-64E aircraft maintenance, inspections, and system repairs while providing technical training and mentorship to Qatar Air Force personnel to develop effective AH-64E aircraft mechanics.

Key Responsibilities

Aircraft Maintenance Operations

• Perform AH-64E aircraft maintenance tasks using QAF-specific AH-64E IETM, AH-64E Operators Manual, AH-64E Maintenance Test Flight Manual, and AH-64E Check List Manual.
• Execute scheduled and unscheduled aircraft maintenance actions.
• Prepare aircraft for inspections and maintenance checks.
• Perform routine and special inspections of aircraft and related components.
• Conduct maintenance operational checks.

Systems and Component Work

• Remove and install aircraft systems and subsystem assemblies and components, including engines, rotors, gearboxes, transmissions, and mechanical flight controls and their components.
• Service and lubricate aircraft systems, subsystems, and components.
• Diagnose and solve aircraft subsystem problems using special tools and equipment as required.
• Fix complex pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems to isolate mechanical or electrical faults and repair faulty components.
• Assemble, disassemble, and/or modify systems by changing, removing, replacing, or upgrading aerospace vehicle components to address failures or implement changes.
• Coordinate assembly, disassembly, or overhaul of aerospace vehicles and bench test equipment.

Testing and Verification

• Perform validation and verification testing of systems and components.
• Inspect components and verify repairs for flight worthiness requirements.

Tools and Equipment

• Use common measuring tools, precision measuring gauges, and alignment fixtures.
• Use and perform operator maintenance on tools, special tools, Aircraft Ground Support Equipment (AGSE), and Peculiar Ground Support Equipment (PGSE).

Documentation and Compliance

• Prepare aircraft maintenance forms and records.
• Document procedures and established processes to ensure contractual and regulatory compliance, including repairs, test results, applicable modifications, and inspection results.

Training and Development

• Provide on-the-job training, coaching, and mentorship to Qatar Air Force personnel in the use of all applicable technical publications, tools, test equipment, AGSE, PGSE, and special equipment applicable to aircraft maintenance.
• Coordinate training activities.

General Duties

• Perform air crew-member duties as required.
• Work under general direction.
• Travel on short notice, both domestically and internationally.

Qualifications & Experience

• 6+ years of experience with AH-64D or AH-64E aircraft.
• 3+ years of experience with Unit Level Logistics System-Aviation (ULLS-A(E)) and Enhanced Logbook Automation System (ELAS) entries.
• Successfully completed and be qualified by appropriate U.S. Government armed forces aircraft maintenance course or civilian equivalent training. Contractor factory training or other equivalent training by industry shall be reviewed and approved by the PCO or their designated representative and/or the GFR as substitute.

Skills & Competencies

• Airframe and Powerplant license or equivalent (preferred).
• Army Service School Instructor or civilian equivalent instructing experience for aircraft Electrical/Avionics/Armament/Fire Control/Aircraft Survivability Equipment (ASE) Technicians (preferred).
• Prior experience or qualification in another aviation maintenance field (preferred).
• Prior experience working in the Southwest Asia/desert region (preferred).
