Role Purpose

To manage and operate recreational facilities with excellence, ensuring guest safety, high standards of cleanliness and hygiene, and engaging programming while maintaining compliance with all operational procedures and health and safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities

Operations & Facility Management

• Ensure all operational procedures, checklists and work instructions are carried out to a high standard.
• Ensure day to day preparation of facilities, equipment and areas of use.
• Undertake opening and closing of the Centre in accordance with published hours.
• Provide facilities to the public in accordance with Health and Safety regulations.
• Perform various maintenance duties as directed to maintain a clean and safe facility.
• Undertake routine checks and maintenance in the Plant Room including backwash of filters.
• Maintain constant surveillance of patrons in the facility.

Health, Safety & Emergency Response

• Supervise the pool area and assist swimmers in difficulty.
• Undertake necessary lifesaving first aid as needed.
• Act immediately and appropriately to secure safety of patrons in the event of emergency.
• Provide emergency care and treatment as required until the arrival of emergency medical services.
• Ensure recorded checks on chemical levels of pool water are carried out and report to the Duty Manager or Maintenance Engineer should it fail to meet the required standard.

Guest Experience & Programming

• Undertake tasks required within operational demands of the pool, including cleaning, reception and administration.
• Ensure a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene at all times throughout the shift.
• Present professional appearance and attitude at all times.
• Maintain a high standard of customer service.
• Lead group activities such as games, fitness sessions, or arts and crafts.

Administration & Development

• Prepare and maintain appropriate activity reports.
• Attend training as deemed appropriate by the Manager.
• Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Experience

• 1-2 years of experience in a similar position with a luxury hotel or resort.

Skills & Competencies

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to lead group activities such as games, fitness sessions, or arts and crafts.
• Physically fit and able to stand for long periods, swim if needed, or perform light athletic activities.
