Role Purpose

The Electromechanical Technician is responsible for troubleshooting, testing, assembly, maintenance, repair and inspection of electro-mechanical equipment and assemblies, ensuring compliance with operational and quality requirements while providing technical support and mentorship to junior technicians.

Key Responsibilities

Testing and Diagnostics

• Troubleshoot, test, assemble, disassemble and perform visual inspections of electro-mechanical equipment and assemblies in the maintenance workshop and at wellsites.
• Analyze and interpret environmental and operational test data to diagnose equipment issues and determine corrective actions.
• Conduct testing activities with minimal supervision.
• Test and evaluate the performance of general purpose test equipment and repair as required.
• Configure test stations and systems.

Assembly, Maintenance and Repair

• Perform electro-mechanical assembly, maintenance, repair and downhole equipment servicing activities.
• Support repair, modification and correction of non-conforming equipment to ensure compliance with operational and quality requirements.
• Maintain equipment records and filing systems as part of quality control and assurance programs.

Inspection and Quality Assurance

• Review procedures for assembly, disassembly and test verification accuracy.
• Perform basic electrical inspections and checks as required.
• Inspection and disposition of parts and equipment.
• Evaluate maintenance processes for potential improvements in quality, reliability, turnaround times and costs.

Technical Support and Collaboration

• Assist Engineering and Reliability teams with setup of experiments and accurate recording of test data.
• Provide technical support to operations as required.
• Assist in preparation, development and enhancement of maintenance procedural documentation.

Leadership and Mentoring

• Provide supervision, mentorship and leadership of technicians in the absence of the supervisor or manager.
• Coach and support junior technicians to enhance technical competencies and performance.
• Provide coaching for other technicians.

Compliance

• Ensure full compliance with Baker Hughes Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) policies, procedures and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain high standards of quality, safety and operational excellence in all assigned activities.

Qualifications & Experience

• Diploma or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Electro-Mechanical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
• 7 to 10 years of experience in maintenance and repair of electro-mechanical wireline equipment.
• Prior experience within the Baker Hughes Wireline Product Line is preferred.
• Proven experience troubleshooting and maintaining electro-mechanical systems and equipment.

Skills & Competencies

• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic capabilities for electro-mechanical systems.
• Ability to assemble, disassemble, test, repair and maintain complex equipment.
• Capability to analyze test data and identify root causes of equipment failures.
• Ability to perform basic electrical inspections and checks.
• Familiarity with wireline operations and downhole tools.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Commitment to safety and compliance with HSE requirements.
• Ability and willingness to coach and develop less experienced technicians.
