Teacher - English at Aldar Education in the United Arab Emirates, starting January 2027.

Role Purpose
To inspire, engage, and challenge students in their formative years by creating a nurturing and play-based learning environment. To deliver high quality teaching and inclusive learning experiences that spark curiosity, encourage creativity, and support students' academic, social, and personal development.
Key Responsibilities
Planning and Lesson Design
- Create a climate for learning that is conducive for outstanding practice.
- Identify clear teaching and learning objectives aligned with the school's Teaching and Learning Policy.
- Set clear targets, building on prior attainment.
- Provide clear structure and planning for lessons and learning activities that maintain pace, challenge and engagement.
- Make effective use of ICT to enhance learning and progress.
Differentiation and Student Support
- Identify SEN (POD), EAL and G&T students and ensure that their needs are met through differentiation.
- Meet with other professionals such as speech and language therapists, occupational therapists and educational psychologists, if required.
Assessment and Progress Tracking
- Make effective use of assessment for learning.
- Make effective use of performance data and key indicators to inform planning and deliver differentiated lessons.
- Assess how well learning objectives have been achieved and use them to improve specific aspects of teaching and learning.
- Mark students' work regularly, and set targets for progress, in accordance with the school's Marking Policy.
- Assess and record students' progress systematically and keep records using performance data to inform planning, student learning and progress.
- Undertake assessment of students as requested by examination bodies, department and school procedures.
Behaviour and Discipline
- Maintain discipline in accordance with the school's Behaviour for Learning Policy.
- Encourage good practice with regard to punctuality, behaviour, standards of work and homework.
Communication and Reporting
- Prepare and present informative reports to parents.
- Attend and support parent and student events.
Curriculum Development
- Take part in subject development by producing, reviewing and updating curriculum plans and schemes of work.
General Duties
- Undertake any other duties as assigned by the Senior Leadership Team.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor degree in Education or Bachelor degree in a related subject with PGCE or equivalent teaching qualification.
- Minimum teaching experience in English National Curriculum.
Skills & Competencies
- Teaching across the age ability range with proven success.
- Experience of teaching the UK National Curriculum.
- Ability to work under pressure, problem-solve and be resilient.
- Commitment to continuing professional development (CPD).
- Experience of working in more than one International School desirable.
