Aldar Education seeks a Teacher of English to join our growing family of schools in the United Arab Emirates, commencing in August 2027.

Role Purpose

To plan and deliver outstanding teaching and learning in line with the school's Teaching and Learning Policy, creating a climate conducive to excellent practice, identifying clear objectives, and ensuring all students—including those with Special Educational Needs, English as an Additional Language, and Gifted and Talented learners—have their needs met through differentiation and effective assessment.

Key Responsibilities

Planning and Instruction

• Create a climate for learning that is conducive to outstanding practice.
• Identify clear teaching and learning objectives aligned with the school's policies.
• Set clear targets building on prior attainment.
• Provide clear structure and planning for lessons and learning activities that maintain pace, challenge and engagement.
• Make effective use of ICT to enhance learning and progress.

Student Identification and Differentiation

• Identify SEN (POD), EAL and G&T students and ensure their needs are met through differentiation.
• Make effective use of performance data and key indicators to inform planning and deliver differentiated lessons.

Assessment and Progress Monitoring

• Make effective use of assessment for learning.
• Assess how well learning objectives have been achieved and use findings to improve specific aspects of teaching and learning.
• Mark students' work regularly and set targets for progress in accordance with the school's Marking Policy.
• Assess and record students' progress systematically and maintain records.
• Undertake assessment of students as requested by examination bodies, department and school procedures.
• Use performance data to inform planning, student learning and progress.

Behaviour and Discipline

• Maintain discipline in accordance with the school's Behaviour for Learning Policy.
• Encourage good practice regarding punctuality, behaviour, standards of work and homework.

Communication and Reporting

• Prepare and present informative reports to parents.
• Attend and support parent and student events.
• Meet with other professionals such as speech and language therapists, occupational therapists and educational psychologists if required.

Curriculum Development

• Take part in subject development by producing, reviewing and updating curriculum plans and schemes of work.

Additional Duties

• Undertake any other duties as assigned by the Senior Leadership Team.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor degree in Education or Bachelor degree in a related subject with PGCE or equivalent teaching qualification.
• Teaching experience in English National Curriculum.
• Teaching across the age and ability range with proven success.
• Experience of working in more than one International School desirable.

Skills & Competencies

• Experience of teaching the UK National Curriculum.
• Ability to work under pressure, problem-solve and be resilient.
• Commitment to continuing professional development (CPD).
