Aircraft Paint Technician

Role Overview

Aircraft Paint Technician at Etihad Airways, based in Abu Dhabi. The role performs paint tasks and repairs on the Etihad fleet in accordance with GCAA CAR 145 Maintenance approval, OEM specifications, and approved manuals.

Role Purpose

Execute paint repair and maintenance tasks on the Etihad aircraft fleet to OEM specifications and approved maintenance standards, ensuring aircraft airworthiness and operational readiness.

Key Responsibilities

Damage Assessment & Repair

• Assess reported paint damages on aircraft.
• Execute repairs necessary as per OEM instructions.
• Review related manuals including SRM, AMM, CMM, and TCDS for damage assessments, repair procedures, and material identification.

Stakeholder Communication

• Provide the Aircraft Engineer with necessary information and data related to paint defects, including associated OEM information that determines the aircraft's damage and repair condition.

Documentation & Continuity

• Document all work performed in shift handover to ensure work continuity is clear and consistent.

Safety & Environment

• Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
• Fully understand company policies and safety procedures.

Qualifications & Experience

• Education: High School Certificate or Equivalent.
• Formal basic aircraft maintenance training or equivalents is preferable.
• Five years working in an Aviation environment.
• Three years of aircraft painting experience, preferably with Airlines or MRO.
• Proficiency in aircraft painting including composite and metallic structures.

Skills & Competencies

• Aircraft painting on composite structures.
• Aircraft painting on metallic structures.
• Aircraft maintenance manual interpretation.
