Role Purpose

The Fleet Engineer reports to the Airbus Technical Fleet Manager - Fleet Management and is responsible for ensuring compliance with applicable CAR-AIR-OPS, CAR M, and CAR 145 requirements to maintain the continuing airworthiness and high aircraft safety standards of the Etihad Airways fleet.

Key Responsibilities

Airworthiness & Compliance

• Review all Airbus-related Airworthiness Directives and mandatory Service Bulletins on the Etihad Airways fleet to ensure all mandatory modifications are properly assessed and decided.
• Perform all related assessments and ensure compliance in a timely manner to maintain aircraft airworthiness and safety standards.
• Compile Engineering Orders, Special Checks, and Additional Engineering Requirements for modification and aircraft status assessment.
• Ensure all TFU/FAIR are reviewed on a regular basis and related advisories are issued.

Fleet Reliability & Optimization

• Work with OEMs, MROs, and internal departments to improve fleet reliability, on-time performance, and reduce costs.
• Support technical projects including EIS, end of aircraft lease, and modification projects.

Governance & Decision Making

• Create business cases for modifications and facilitate decision making in the Modification Review Committee.
• Ensure all work is performed in accordance with internal processes and procedures.

Safety Culture & Support

• Encourage colleagues and actively promote a positive reporting culture by reporting any unsafe acts, unsafe conditions, or safety risks.
• Provide support to the Lead Engineer on Fleet Management functions.

Qualifications & Experience

• Tertiary qualification meeting eligibility requirements for membership as a chartered engineer (for example, Bachelor degree in Aeronautical, Mechanical, or Electrical/Electronics engineering).
• Three years CAMO experience as Fleet Engineer or Technical Services Engineer, OR five years of job-related experience in Technical Commercial Aviation or Airline Engineering.
• Aircraft B1/B2 type training on A320, A350, or A380 fleet and experience in AMOS MIS are added advantages.

Skills & Competencies

• AMOS MIS proficiency.
• Knowledge of CAR-AIR-OPS, CAR M, and CAR 145 requirements.
• Technical project management.
• Stakeholder collaboration with OEMs and MROs.
