Role Purpose

As an AI Product Engineer, Deployed, you will design, develop, and deploy state-of-the-art software solutions that integrate AI to automate real-world problems. You will work directly with customers to develop product specifications and build from zero, turning research breakthroughs into practical solutions. Every project ships to production and is expected to create measurable customer value and impact.

Key Responsibilities

Innovation and Deployment

• Design, develop, and deploy advanced software solutions that integrate AI to tackle real-world problems, particularly in automating complex, manual processes in government and industrial sectors.
• Utilize modern web frameworks, microservices architecture, and cloud computing to build applications that apply AI to intricate optimization challenges.

Stakeholder Management

• Interact directly with key customer stakeholders to apply pioneering AI solutions.
• Work directly with customer engineers and subject matter experts to develop and tune applications that optimize their workflows and deliver tangible upside.
• Develop the product spec in collaboration with the customer.

Operations and Optimization

• Build scalable data pipelines and integrate industrial sensor networks.
• Optimize application performance and reliability, and prepare systems for production.
• Monitor and maintain deployed applications to ensure they continue delivering value across various governments worldwide.
• Engage in projects including optimizing advanced energy production systems, modernizing core government workflows, and improving patient outcomes in advanced public healthcare systems.

Learning and Leadership

• Stay abreast of the latest developments in software engineering and AI.
• Participate in code reviews and share knowledge.
• Set an example with high-quality engineering practices.
• Mentor junior engineers and lead by example.

Continuous Impact

• Understand complex business challenges and deliver software solutions powered by AI.
• Own problems end-to-end and acquire any necessary knowledge to get the job done.

Qualifications & Experience

• Minimum 2+ years of professional experience.
• Bachelor's degree or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience with front-end and back-end technologies, microservices, and cloud platforms.
• Strong foundation in software design principles, data structures, and algorithms.
• Experience working directly with customers to develop software specifications and build from zero.
• Nice to have: Experience working on on-site engineering projects or in client-facing roles such as Forward-Deployed Engineer, Solutions Engineer, Integration Engineer, Sales Engineer, or Customer Engineer.

• Strong interpersonal skills; comfort wearing many hats including software development, product management, sales, and interpersonal engagement.
