Role Overview

Vector/Pest Controller at KBR, supporting the AFCAP V Saudi Arabia program at Prince Sultan Air Base (PSAB) in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Company Overview

KBR delivers comprehensive Base Operating Support-Installation (BOS-I) services at Prince Sultan Air Base in support of the 378 Air Expeditionary Wing, mission partners, and tenant units. The program serves transient, temporary duty, permanent party, and rotational personnel, and extends services to five remote Army sites within PSAB.

Role Purpose

Perform integrated pest management functions, conduct pest management surveys, and determine pest management actions needed to control and prevent infestations of plant and animal pests while coordinating with medical activities to control health hazards.

Key Responsibilities

Pest Management Operations

• Inspect buildings, land, and surroundings for infestation.
• Spray chemicals, lay poisonous bait, set mechanical traps, or apply other needed treatments to control pest problems.
• Perform light to heavy duties related to treatment, casing, and removal of harmful pests.
• Clean areas that harbor pests to prepare areas for fumigation.
• Use a multitude of different equipment to eliminate pests in accordance with QHSE guidelines.

Planning & Coordination

• Implement and develop Pest Management Plans in accordance with USAF approved Air Force Instructions (AFIs).
• Ensure all work locations have an effective Integrated Pest Management plan in place.
• Maintain adequate inventories and submit requests to USAF when inventories are low.
• Provide operational control to OCN personnel escorting during work hours, including to and from visitor-controlled areas.
• Interact and coordinate with medical activities to control health hazards.

Reporting & Documentation

• Complete required reports and tasks in accordance with established policies, procedures, systems, and requirements approved by the company.
• Maintain contact and accountability of work activities using Land Mobile Radios, cell phones, laptops, and other devices.

Service Delivery

• Ensure successful delivery of services to 4,000 personnel, plus or minus 10%.
• Make certain that customer satisfaction is achieved with services provided.
• Function as an integral team member, cooperating with and supporting U.S. deployed forces and Kingdom of Saudi Arabia personnel.
• Share information with other integral team members as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Supervision & Execution

• Under direct supervision, perform routine assigned tasks from instructions, established guidelines, and procedures.

Qualifications & Experience

• High School Diploma or equivalent with a minimum of 2 years of licensed pest control experience required.
• Preferred: USAF AFSC 3E4X3 Pest Management or another similar Military or DOD MOS.
• Completion of USAF AFSC 3E4X3 Pest Management or other equivalent DOD school is highly desired.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen.
• Must have and maintain a valid U.S. SECRET Security Clearance throughout the duration of the contract.
• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English fluently.
• Experience delivering DOD Base Operating Support-Installation (BOS-I) or similar work in an overseas or contingency environment is preferred; USAF experience is highly desired.
• Experience in contingency environments and knowledge and experience working with government contracts is preferred.

• Applicant must have a valid DoD Certification with Categories 6, 7, and 8; or a valid state Certified Applicators License with DoD equivalent.

• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills.
• Computer skills include good working knowledge of Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Able and willing to work periods of long hours to meet mission requirements.

Additional Information

Documentation & Travel Requirements

• Must possess a current U.S. Driver's License.
• Must possess passport book (not passport card) with at least 13 months of remaining validity and 6 blank visa or stamp pages remaining.
• Candidate must also meet CENTCOM MOD-15 theater requirements.

Working Environment

• Work will be indoors and outdoors.
• Exposure to heat, cold, dust, noise, and chemicals may occur.
• Overtime and shift work may be required depending on contractual needs.
• Occasional to frequent travel required.
• Must comply with all Federal, State, and Local regulations and published company work rules as well as written instructions.
• Task-specific work environment training may be provided.
• Must be prepared to function in a wartime or contingency environment to support U.S. interests.

Physical Activities & Equipment

• Physical requirements include lifting up to 35 pounds, team lifting up to 50 pounds, climbing, extended sitting or standing, stooping, stretching, and bending.
• Moderate physical exertion including walking to operating areas and walking up stairs.
• Day-to-day physical requirements may involve standard office activities including sitting or standing for extended periods, attending meetings, use of keyboard and mouse repetitively, lifting and carrying less than 20 pounds frequently.
• May be exposed to potentially hazardous conditions requiring wear of hard hats, gloves, steel-toed boots, hearing protection, safety glasses, and other personal protective equipment (PPE); may be required to push, pull, and lift heavy equipment.
• Work may require using and wearing personal protective equipment such as hearing and eye protection, hard hat, steel-toed boots, and Individual Protective Equipment (IPE) which may include but is not limited to Level III plus or IV Individual Body Armor with both front and back ballistic plates, ACH helmet, clothing (undergarments, shirts, pants and/or coveralls), reflective vests or belts, and sound suppression devices.
