Role Overview
Cost Control Engineer, Group AMANA.
Role Purpose
Support cost control operations across projects by developing budgets, tracking expenditures, validating costs, and preparing accurate financial reports to ensure projects remain within approved budgets and contract terms.
Key Responsibilities
Budget Development & Management
- Assist in developing, preparing and reviewing job budgets.
- Perform quantity take-offs based on contract's method of measurement with high speed and accuracy.
- Prepare and review project cost reports with Cost Control Manager.
- Verify project cost reports with the Project Manager, highlighting dummy cost, forecasted cost, contingencies and over-runs.
Cost Reporting & Documentation
- Assist in preparing and issuing project cost reports.
- Perform site visits to prepare and update progress reports.
- Provide feedback and updates of data required for preparation of project reports.
- Prepare and study cost comparisons, value engineering and feasibility as requested by Business Unit management.
Subcontractor & Supplier Management
- Assist in preparing subcontractor progress reports and payment certificates.
- Verify Material Requisition Forms (MRF) by checking quantities against budgeted quantities to ensure compliance with budget and contract specifications.
- Verify Material Requisition Forms (MRF) and Local Purchase Order (LPO) by checking quantities and rates against job budget to ensure they remain within budget and ordered items comply with contract specifications.
Variation & Cost Control
- Assist in preparing and checking project variation orders and claims with supporting documents.
- Prepare and perform comparison between job budget and job estimate based on contract documents.
- Highlight to Cost Control Manager items that are not within job budget.
- Assist in investigating and validating the source and causes of over-budget situations on site.
