Role Overview
Advisor, Portfolio Performance Management (Gas-Sour, UC, Growth) at ADNOC. This role provides comprehensive professional advice, support and constructive input on all operations planning, asset performance, budget and business strategic aspects of Gas assets within concession governance and operations management.
Role Purpose
To set innovative strategies by maximizing resources to meet the needs of a continuously changing business environment, ensuring delivery of upstream mandates with maximum efficiency, optimum cost and 100% compliance to Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Operations & Asset Performance
- Evaluate, recommend, review and advise on various asset business issues related to Gas assets to ensure resource utilization is economically optimized in conformity with ADNOC's guidelines and objectives.
- Analyze, review and evaluate Gas assets division operations, providing comprehensive feedback to management on asset performance, finance, budget and strategic aspects.
- Monitor Gas assets for the delivery of Gas Production Targets as per the set mandate.
- Review all Gas assets operation, production work plans and capital/operating budgets, asset lead evaluations and submit appropriate recommendations in conformity with ADNOC's interests and guidelines.
- Manage, monitor and advise Gas assets on non-technical business subjects related to Operation and Production.
- Maximize ADNOC group assets value in different engineering aspects and assure the delivery of gas production adhering to the concession mandates while ensuring current and future production targets are met.
- Support Gas assets to achieve optimized operation activities through various business optimizations, sharing experience and lesson learnt, and improving current practices.
Planning & Performance Management
- Provide regular updates to Gas assets management on respective assets performance and expenditure progress including various optimization initiatives.
- Provide various asset business aspects advice and options/recommendations to Gas assets Management regarding Operation, Production and ways to ensure progress in this field per ADNOC mandate.
- Review, analyze, coordinate and provide comprehensive inputs on assets yearly Business and Financial plans.
- Monitor and align/optimize inter-OPCO's Shutdown plan considering other OPCO's plan activities including downstream and other stakeholder alignment.
- Provide comprehensive feedback after review of Gas assets various business activities in order to achieve upstream mandates.
Governance & Compliance
- Provide continuous support and advice in the governance of Gas assets business activities by coordination with internal ADNOC functions and contribute on the way forward to respective end users.
- Monitor the implementation and compliance by all Gas assets with ADNOC's Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) policies, procedures and applicable regulations.
- Promote safe, healthy and environmentally friendly operations support activities of Gas assets.
- Provide support to various legal agreements for the Gas assets.
- Comply with relevant HSE policies, procedures, controls, applicable legislation and sustainability guidelines in line with international standards, best practices and ADNOC Code of Practices.
Business Improvement & Process Optimization
- Identify ways and means of continuously improving the business processes and guidelines and standards.
- Design and implement new tools and techniques to improve the quality and efficiency of operational processes.
- Identify improvements in internal processes against best practices in pursuit of greater efficiency in line with best industry standards to define intelligent solutions for issues confronting the function.
Supervision & Team Development
- Plan, supervise and coordinate all activities in the assigned area to meet functional objectives.
- Train and develop assigned staff on relevant skills to enable them to become proficient on the job and deliver respective business objectives.
- Support and mentor UAE junior staff for effective integration through the development program.
Budget & Financial Management
- Provide input for preparation of Function/Division/Department/Section budgets, assist in the implementation of approved budgets and work plans to deliver business objectives.
- Investigate and highlight any significant variances to support effective performance and cost control.
Policies & Performance Framework
- Implement approved Function/Division/Department/Section policies, processes, systems, standards and procedures in order to support execution of work programs in line with Company and International standards.
- Contribute to the achievement of approved Performance Objectives for the Function/Division/Department/Section in line with the Company Performance framework.
Reporting
- Provide inputs to prepare Function/Division/Department/Section Management Information Systems (MIS) and progress reports for Company Management.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering or equivalent from a recognized institution.
- Minimum 12 years related experience in Oil and Gas Operations, performance and planning support activities.
- Extensive experience in performance portfolio management of Oil and Gas operations.
- Experience in process and mechanical systems and equipment used in oil and gas field installations.
- Knowledge of project management systems and Oil and Gas industry technical standards.
- Awareness of various Surface Operation, Production and Engineering requirements and constraints.
- Understanding of commercial/contractual terms, HSE requirements and various operations aspects.

- Regular contact with planning and performance representative counterparts of Gas assets on key issues relating to assets.
- Frequent contact with Legal, Downstream Industry, Marketing and Trading Directorate for coordination and follow-up of matters related to Gas assets.
- Regular contact with peers in Upstream OPCOs to share ideas and good practices.
External Relationships
- Regular contact with Contractors/Consultants/Suppliers representatives on matters related to Gas services and with service companies.
- Occasional contact with Management of International Gas Companies for exchange of information, benchmarking, study visits and training programs.
