Role Overview

Adjunct Faculty in Maritime Logistics & Supply Chain Management at Sharjah Maritime Academy, located in Sharjah.

Role Purpose

To prepare, develop, and deliver postgraduate teaching and learning in Maritime Logistics and Supply Chain Management, with a focus on contemporary industry practices and student assessment.

Key Responsibilities

Course Development & Delivery

• Prepare, develop, and deliver teaching and learning materials for postgraduate courses, particularly Maritime Professionals and Advanced Maritime Operations Management.
• Develop course materials, assessments, and learning resources in accordance with the approved syllabus.

Student Assessment & Feedback

• Assess and grade assignments, presentations, and examinations, providing timely feedback to students.
• Maintain accurate student attendance and academic records.

Student Support

• Provide academic guidance and consultation to students during the course.

Academic Governance & Compliance

• Participate in course moderation, examination, and quality assurance activities as required.
• Comply with Sharjah Maritime Academy's academic policies, regulations, and Civil Aviation Authority requirements.
• Attend departmental meetings and faculty activities when requested by the Head of Department.

Qualifications & Experience

Education

• Essential: PhD in Maritime Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Maritime Business, or a closely related discipline.
• Preferred: Recognized qualification for teaching in Higher Education.

Experience

• Essential: Demonstrated university teaching experience at the postgraduate level in Maritime Operations Management, or a closely related discipline.
• Essential: Experience teaching one or more of the following areas: Maritime Operations Management, Logistics, or related postgraduate courses.
• Essential: Strong understanding of contemporary maritime industry practices and their application to postgraduate teaching.
• Essential: Professional experience in the maritime, shipping, port, logistics, or supply chain industry.

Professional Affiliation

• Preferred: Relevant industry body affiliation or membership.
