Role Overview

Adjunct Faculty - General Studies at Higher Colleges of Technology (HCT), a temporary teaching position within the college to enhance student learning.

Role Purpose

Provide effective instruction in assigned General Studies subjects and at least two or more specific areas of the assigned program or discipline to second language learners within a student-centric learning environment that fosters respect for students, their culture, and their traditions.

Key Responsibilities

Instruction & Course Delivery

• Deliver effective instruction in undergraduate courses in respective discipline.
• Cover regular program courses including capstone projects, work experience, and senior-level specialized courses.
• Teach assigned General Studies subjects to second language learners.

Academic & Community Engagement

• Actively participate in academic and extra-curricular events at the College and within the community.
• Engage in applied research activities.
• Support outreach activities.

Qualifications & Experience

• Master's Degree and a professional certification relevant to the discipline, or Bachelor's Degree with extensive industry experience and industry certification as per the discipline requirement.
• Appropriate academic professional qualifications as required by the discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years relevant industry experience preferred.

Additional Information

• Adjunct Faculty teaching load is assigned on an as-needed basis and may not exceed nine (9) credits per semester.
• Workdays are normally Monday to Friday from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM.
• Hours of work for academic employees are based on the teaching schedule.
• Report to the Program Coordinator of a Division.
