Adjunct Faculty - Engineering

Role Overview

Adjunct Faculty - Engineering at Higher Colleges of Technology (HCT). This is a temporary teaching position reporting to the Program Coordinator of a Division.

Role Purpose

To provide effective instruction in specific Engineering courses to second language learners within a student-centric learning environment that fosters respect for students, their culture, and their traditions. To actively participate in academic and extra-curricular events at the College and within the community.

Key Responsibilities

Instruction & Course Delivery

• Deliver effective instruction in undergraduate courses in Engineering discipline.
• Teach regular program courses including capstone projects, work experience, and senior-level specialized courses.
• Instruct in at least two or more specific areas of the assigned program or discipline.

Academic & Community Engagement

• Actively participate in academic and extra-curricular events at the College.
• Actively participate in community activities and outreach.
• Contribute to applied research as welcomed.

Qualifications & Experience

• Master's Degree and a professional certification relevant to the discipline.
• Or Bachelor's Degree may be considered for candidates with extensive industry experience and industry certification as per discipline requirement.
• Appropriate academic professional qualifications as required.
• A minimum of 5 years relevant industry experience is preferred.

Additional Information

• Teaching load is assigned on an as-needed basis and may not exceed nine (9) credits per semester.
• Workdays are normally Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM.
• Hours of work for academic employees are based on the teaching schedule.
