Adjunct - Faculty Arabic Studies

Role Overview

Adjunct Faculty position in Arabic Studies at Higher Colleges of Technology (HCT).

Role Purpose

Provide effective instruction in assigned General Studies subjects and at least two or more specific areas of the Arabic Studies program/discipline to second language learners within a student-centric learning environment that fosters respect for students, their culture, and their traditions.

Key Responsibilities

Instruction & Course Delivery

• Deliver effective instruction in undergraduate courses in Arabic Studies and assigned General Studies subjects.
• Cover regular program courses including capstone projects, work experience, and senior-level specialized courses.
• Teach assigned course(s) to second language learners within a student-centric learning environment.

Academic & Community Engagement

• Actively participate in academic and extra-curricular events at the College and within the community.
• Engage in applied research and outreach activities.

Qualifications & Experience

• Master's Degree and a professional certification relevant to the discipline, OR
• Bachelor's Degree may also be considered for candidates with extensive industry experience and industry certification as per discipline requirement.
• Appropriate academic professional qualifications as required by the discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years relevant industry experience is preferred.

Additional Information

• Reports to the Program Coordinator of the Division.
• Teaching load assigned on an as-needed basis and may not exceed nine (9) credits per semester.
• Adjunct Faculty are temporary teaching staff employed to enhance student learning.
• Work schedule: Mondays to Fridays from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM; actual hours of work for academic employees are based on the teaching schedule.
