Adjunct Faculty - Applied Media

Role Overview

Adjunct Faculty - Applied Media position at Higher Colleges of Technology (HCT), reporting to the Program Coordinator of a Division.

Role Purpose

Provide effective instruction in specific Applied Media courses to second language learners within a student-centric learning environment that fosters respect for students, their culture, and their traditions. Actively participate in academic, extra-curricular, and community events at the College.

Key Responsibilities

Instruction & Course Delivery

• Deliver effective instruction in undergraduate courses in Applied Media discipline.
• Teach regular program courses including capstone projects, work experience, and senior-level specialized courses.
• Teach in at least two or more specific areas of the assigned program/discipline.
• Cover assigned Applied Media subjects to second language learners.

Academic & Community Engagement

• Actively participate in academic and extra-curricular events at the College.
• Participate in community outreach activities.
• Engage in applied research activities as welcomed.

Qualifications & Experience

• Master's Degree and professional certification relevant to the discipline; or
• Bachelor's Degree considered for candidates with extensive industry experience and industry certification as per the discipline requirement.
• Appropriate academic professional qualifications as required.
• Minimum of 5 years relevant industry experience preferred.

Additional Information

• Adjunct Faculty are temporary teaching staff employed to enhance student learning.
• Teaching load assigned on as-needed basis and may not exceed Nine (9) credits per semester.
• Workdays normally Monday to Friday from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM.
• Hours of work for academic employees based on the teaching schedule.
