Role Overview
Actuarial Analyst at Cigna Insurance Middle East, based in Dubai. The role supports actuarial initiatives across the UAE health insurance market and broader Middle East and Africa businesses.

Role Purpose
To deliver detailed actuarial analysis, pricing, and financial support across the Middle East and Africa region. The role requires independent judgment and discretion to support a range of actuarial investigations and help the company make informed business decisions through collaboration with Data & Analytics, Underwriting, Product Development, and Finance teams.
Key Responsibilities
Pricing & Assumptions
- Develop actuarial pricing for the Middle East and Africa region.
- Conduct experience studies to inform pricing strategies.
- Set book rates and establish pricing assumptions.
- Update pricing methodologies.
Data & Analytics
- Execute data processing, reconciliations and analytics.
- Support analytics related to medical cost drivers and trends.
- Develop dashboards and reports to enhance the speed and quality of actuarial analysis and reporting.
Tools & Systems
- Develop, test and maintain pricing and underwriting tools.
Financial & Regulatory
- Support the monthly financial close.
- Support the reserving process.
- Conduct periodic review of key reserve assumptions.
- Communicate drivers of financial results relative to forecast.
- Support the compilation of regulatory submissions.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Collaborate closely with Data and Analytics, Underwriting, Product Development and Finance teams.
Qualifications & Experience
- Undergraduate degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Finance or a related field.
- Some progress towards Associate credentials with either the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries or the Society of Actuaries.
- Commitment towards pursuing a Fellowship qualification.
- At least two years of actuarial experience in the Middle East, preferably in health insurance.
Skills & Competencies
- Self-motivated and results driven.
- Good communication skills and strong attention to detail.
- Strong proficiency in MS Office.
- Strong proficiency in data analytics tools: R, SQL, Alteryx or equivalent.
- Excellent verbal and written English competence.
