Coinbase Tokenized Equities gives eligible non-US users a simple way to buy tokens backed 1:1 by US stocks and ETFs. The tokens are issued out of Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM), a regulated financial center overseen by the FSRA, and trade 24/7 onchain.

Role Purpose

This senior individual contributor role owns the accounting and reporting model for Tokenized Equities from the ground up. You will drive accounting policy, regulatory and legal entity reporting, controls, GL operations, and finance systems while coordinating across Tax, Treasury, FP&A, controllership, external auditors, and regulators.

Key Responsibilities

Accounting Model & Operations

• Build the accounting model from the ground up, covering token issuance and redemption, asset tracking, intercompany flows, and the close process.
• Sign off on flow of funds, posting rules, account setup, ledger structure, reconciliations, and reporting before launch.
• Lead accounting analysis for new structures under US GAAP and IFRS, including dividends, splits, and balance sheet treatment.

Regulatory Compliance & Reporting

• Own regulatory compliance and reporting to the FSRA for this business.
• Liaise with the regulator to ensure consistent understanding of the rules.
• Build a robust, efficient, and well-controlled reporting process.
• Remain responsive to ad hoc regulatory queries.

Controls & Risk Management

• Set up a control environment for a regulated launch, including audit trails, books and records, and data integrity across on-chain and off-chain systems.
• Identify accounting, controls, and reporting risks early and ensure each has a clear owner and plan.

Financial Reporting & Audit

• Build the reporting framework for the issuer entity, including annual audited IFRS financials, local filings, and external audit support.

Cross-Functional Coordination

• Partner with Product, Engineering, Legal, Tax, Compliance, Treasury, FP&A, and Finance Data so new flows are accurate, controlled, and scalable.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA, CA, or similar strongly preferred.
• Strong accounting or finance experience in a regulated setting (capital markets, broker-dealer, exchange, custody, clearing, or digital assets).
• Experience working directly with a financial regulator through inquiries, exams, or filings.
• Proven ability to apply accounting rules to new or complex products.
• Experience building new finance processes for a new product, entity, or regulatory regime.
• Familiarity with the FSRA and its regulatory framework and rulebook.

Skills & Competencies

• Strong controls mindset and ability to shape how systems are built before launch.
• Clear communication skills and comfort in ambiguous, fast-moving environments.
• Demonstrates the ability to responsibly use generative AI tools and copilots (e.g., LibreChat, Gemini, Glean) in daily workflows, continuously learn as tools evolve, and apply human-in-the-loop practices to deliver business-ready outputs and drive measurable improvements in efficiency, cost, and quality.

• Annual base salary range: 503,500 AED–530,000 AED, excluding equity and bonus.
• Total compensation may include equity and bonus eligibility.
