Role Overview
AC Technician at Apparel Group. This position is responsible for the installation, inspection, servicing, and repair of air conditioning systems across the company's retail and commercial facilities.
Role Purpose
Ensure optimal performance of HVAC equipment, compliance with safety standards, and efficient resolution of technical issues to support smooth business operations.
Key Responsibilities
Installation & Inspection
- Review technical blueprints and layouts to determine AC servicing requirements.
- Conduct routine inspections, preventative maintenance, and performance tests to ensure optimal equipment functioning.
Troubleshooting & Repair
- Troubleshoot and maintain DX systems, window AC units, FCU units, and related HVAC components.
- Diagnose faults, replace defective parts, and calibrate thermostats and controls.
- Perform emergency repairs in a timely manner to minimize operational disruptions.
Equipment Monitoring & Data Management
- Monitor equipment performance parameters, such as temperature levels, fuel usage, and system cycles, and log relevant data.
Materials & Tools Management
- Recommend and requisition necessary materials, spare parts, and tools for AC-related maintenance activities.
- Maintain tools and workspaces in clean, safe, and functional condition.
Environmental & Safety Compliance
- Ensure proper recovery, handling, and disposal of refrigerants in accordance with environmental standards.
- Adhere to workplace safety procedures, wear appropriate PPE, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
Stakeholder Collaboration
- Collaborate with cross-functional maintenance and facilities teams to deliver cohesive service support.
Qualifications & Experience
- ITI or Diploma in Air Conditioning, HVAC, or a related technical field.
- 3-5 years of hands-on experience in troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining DX and window AC systems in retail, commercial, or facility management environments.
- Strong knowledge of refrigerant handling, HVAC system diagnostics, and preventive maintenance procedures.
Skills & Competencies
- Good communication skills and the ability to coordinate with team members and supervisors.
