3rd Watch/Keep Engineer for Dredger with NMDC Group.

Role Purpose
Assist the Chief Engineer and senior engineering officers in the safe and efficient operation of all machinery and equipment onboard the Cutter Suction Dredger (CSD), including propulsion systems, auxiliary machinery, and specialized dredging equipment.
Key Responsibilities
Watchkeeping & Monitoring
- Carry out watchkeeping duties in the engine room.
- Ensure continuous monitoring of main engines, generators, pumps and auxiliary machinery.
- Conduct regular machinery rounds and record operating parameters, temperatures, pressures, levels and abnormalities.
Machinery Operation & Maintenance
- Operate, monitor and maintain main propulsion, auxiliary engines, pumps, compressors, boilers and associated systems as assigned.
- Carry out routine preventive and corrective maintenance as instructed through the vessel's Planned Maintenance System (PMS).
- Assist with overhauls, inspections, troubleshooting and repairs of engines, pumps, valves, hydraulic systems and other machinery.
- Ensure proper operation of fuel, cooling water, lubrication, bilge, ballast, fire and other auxiliary systems.
- Assist in monitoring and maintaining hydraulic power packs and hydraulic circuits used for dredging and deck machinery.
Dredging Equipment Support
- Assist in the operation and maintenance of the dredging machinery, including dredge pump, cutter drive, cutter ladder, spud system and related hydraulic equipment.
- Coordinate with deck and dredging personnel when engineering support is required for cutter, spud, ladder, winch or dredge-pump operations.
- Assist the engineering team during dredging operations, mobilization, demobilization and vessel maintenance periods.
Reporting & Documentation
- Report machinery defects, alarms, leaks and abnormal conditions promptly to the 2nd Engineer or Chief Engineer.
- Maintain accurate engine-room logs, maintenance records, checklists and operational reports.
Safety & Compliance
- Follow ISM, SOLAS, MARPOL, Class, Flag and company safety requirements applicable to engineering operations.
- Ensure machinery and work areas are kept clean, safe and ready for operation.
- Participate in emergency drills and respond effectively to machinery failures, alarms and emergency situations.
General Duties
- Assist during bunkering, fuel transfer, machinery trials and planned maintenance activities, following company procedures.
- Maintain proper care and inventory of engineering tools, spare parts and consumables.
- Support the Chief Engineer in maintaining machinery reliability, fuel efficiency and minimum operational downtime.
- Carry out any other engineering duties assigned by the Chief Engineer or 2nd Engineer in accordance with the vessel's operational requirements.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in marine or mechanical engineering.
- 5 years' experience on marine vessels, preferably on dredgers.
